Alfred JosephGOODINGO.B.E. LL.D. Peacefully on January 29th, Alfred aged 85 years, beloved husband of Lavinia (Peggy), cherished father of Russell, Joanne and Lloyd and precious grandfather. Funeral Service at St Basils Church, Bassaleg on Thursday 15th February at 11.00am, followed by interment at Rogerstone and Bassaleg Cemetery. Family flowers only by request. Should have been Knighted
I have just learned that my previous employer and mentor Alf Gooding passed away in February 2018.
I always thought he deserved a Knighthood for his service to industry but sadly that never happened. He was an inspiration to me and many others. He was tough but kind. RIP Alf.

I was very sorry to hear that "Uncle Alf" has passed away. I remember very fondly the childhood times our family spent with yours and our holiday together. A lovely man.
