VASS Mary Kathleen.Loving wife, mother and nan, passed away so suddenly on her 73rd birthday, 2nd July, 2005, that we never had a chance to say goodbye. You were the most unselfish person we have ever known, always loved to give, never to receive. We will never forget your warm smile, that mischievous twinkle in your eyes and your insurpressible sense of fun. You used to say you were going to rename your house 'Bethlehem' because everyone came when they were in need - and it was true, you were always there for us all, offering your unconditional help and support. You always knew what each situation in life demanded from you and that is a rare gift. Your grandchildren meant the world to you, and your devotion to them will remain with them forever. Adam talks about the times you and he shared together constantly and we hope he can do this one day without emotion in his voice. He takes your 'baby' Joel out each evening to find the brightest star in Heavens sky to wave goodnight to his 'Nan Nan' and blows you a kiss. You welcomed Jordan and Jade with open arms and loved them dearly, you loved feeding the birds in your garden, tending your flowers and being at one with nature. You loved all God's creatures and would feed and help any stray animal that crossed your path. Nobody could ever make fruit cakes and mince pies like you. Your only hobby was flower arranging - you enjoyed doing this for your church and made everybodys wedding bouquets. Our only comfort at this sad time is that we know you have gone onto a better place where you will never know pain and find total peace with your mum, dad, and sister Joan. Your faith in God and the power of prayer was absolute. Our loss is Heavens gain. We will never get over losing you this way and we miss you more with every day that passes. We hope and pray you had a wonderful birthday in Heaven.Your devastated husband, Charles, broken-hearted daughter, Mary, and beloved grandsons, Adam Ryan and Joel Alexander. xxxx.Sincere gratitude to the Paramedics, Ambulance Service, and all the staff at the Resus Unit of the Leicester Royal Infirmary who tried so hard to keep you with us. Their kindness will never be forgotten. Also thanks to Fr. Jimmy Browne for being there with us and for his words of comfort. It has meant so much to us.Mary will be received into her beloved St. Patrick's RC Church, Beaumont Leys Lane, Leicester on Sunday, July 17th, 2005 at 5.30pm.Her funeral service will take place on Monday, July 18th, 2005 at 11.45am followed by Committal at Gilrose Crematorium, Groby Road, Leicester at 12.45pm. She will be laid to rest with her Mam and Dad on Tuesday, July 19th, 2005 at 10am.
