While I never met Hugh, I read with interest his helpfull contributions to many genealogical topics and felt that I did know him well. As a fellow Brummie I wish to express my condolences to his family and friends.

With Deepest Sympathy

The news of Hugh's passing made me very sad. We corresponded for several years through the many genealogy Lists that we belonged to, but met only once. Hugh and I both attended the 2008 Bunfight at Stanton Wick, Somerset on 20 September 2008 where we finally chatted face to face. He will certainly be missed in the genealogy community.
