A Poem

What weight our hearts must hold
As the years pass by in haste
Words silent on mouth, untold
Entwined as an intricate lace
Yet those who have left us know
As the day knows to turn to night
Our unfinished sentences and woes
To their heavenly hearts ignite
A thought escapes us, into the abyss
Yet exists in ways we cannot fathom
What majestical, mythical bliss
The eternity we feel so far from
Yet the patterns of life are such
That we will return to where we began
To those we loved so much
Like tide meeting sun kissed sand
A candle will gently flicker, before gradually dying out
But can shine bright in the eye of the mind
In memory, in heart, ever loud.

JEEPERS CREEPERS

When I first saw you
Your eyes drew me in
Those saucers
Those bright blue peepers
Had me magnetised
Caught in your gaze
How long would this last?
I could not know
That it was to be a lifetime
Of Joy, Pleasure and Happiness
Holding your hand of Amazing Grace.
How sweet your voice
That brought loving devotion
To hear you talk each day
That opened up your smile
And your demonstrative being
That will never diminish
My love and affection for you x.

FRIDAY 3 DECEMBER 1971

The day we decided to stop eyeing each other up in the students' common room and actually speak to each other.
"Can I have some cutlery please?" you asked (yes you raced back from the shops at lunchtime so you could catch up with me in the students' refectory at the College of Commerce, Glasgow). "'Scuse the fingers" I said handing you a knife and fork.
The start of a beautiful romance. I fell for your big bright blue peepers!

21/05/2016 - 3 YEARS

Three years have gone by my honey
All this time without you
I gave my heart, my love, each day.
I did not do the things I promised.
I did not move on
I did not find the "love you never gave me".
I did not clear out
My apathy, my inner turmoil, my self destruct.
But, I have to move forward and
Carry out these promises
And move away from my negative thoughts
And share my self with whomever
Wants or needs my presence and the
Love I have still to give in this new life.
There is a small place in my heart just for you
And will be forevermore.

Someone to care
Someone to share
Lonely hours and moments of despair
To be loved
Oh what a feeling to be loved
Someone to kiss
Someone to miss
When you're away
To hear from each day
To be loved
Some wish to be queens or kings
