May I add my condolences to all of Reg Varmeys family.
I was told by my deceased Father that Reg Varmey was a cousin of my Fathers he was also born in the East End of London.

Reg varney's 'screen presence' is etched in my psyche. I think most people identified in some way with the interaction in the Butler household and the work environment even if it wasn't through their own families. The world seemed a better place then and reg certainly enriched our lives and i'm sure the lives of countless other british televisual imbibers! thanks reg.god bless.mike innes and duncan lamont

I grew up on great british comedy like on the buses, with reg and the crew, carry on films etc, and sadly that type of comedy is no longer on tv these days (thank god for satelite reruns, and dvd boxsets).

i loved watching it then, and still love it now.

Reg, thanks for them memories, RIP, and hope you finally get the birds on the old bus up there, mate.

Condolences to all family and friends all over.

When I was a little girl I lived very close to Reg Varney in Enfield and I always remember my mum saying to me "you know who lives there" and I on a couple of times knocked on his door to say hello to him - thank you for the memories I loved On The Busses Joy

On the buses was the best t.v sitcom of the 70's and reg/stan was the best actor of the show.

What a talented man you were Reg. I remember watching On the Buses as a child and it was really really funny. You and Jack against the Inspector was hilarious. I am sure you wouldn't get a job on the buses today ha ha. Rest in Peace Butler xxxxx

I work in Benidorm as an entertainer & EVERY night at the end of my show, some one remarks to me “you look just like Reg Varney”. Then I spend a few minutes listening to peoples memories of his performances in the 70s & “On the Buses series” They always leave me with that catch phrase,” I hate you Butler”. He was a very talented Entertainer with a capital ‘E’.
