One of my fondest memories of Nutty Dave was at the Speedfreaks Ball, when I asked you where you'd got the small silver knuckle duster that you were wearing on a chain round your neck?. As the evening wore on, and everyone was getting drunk, you went to the loo and came back with it in your hand, and you thrust it at me saying "here you are, have the bl00dy thing, I can't stand you staring at it!" I've worn it every day since then, and each time I've seen you, you always looked to see if I was wearing it and you grinned at me when you saw that I was.

You were one of the best people I've ever had the priveledge to know, and I can't believe you're gone, gigs just won't be the same without your wicked chuckle and weird humour. There's a big Dave shaped hole in the world that nobody is ever going to fill. My thoughts are with your family and Ozzie, I can only begin to imagine how they must feel.
Rest in peace big man, and give 'em hell up there!
