Chelsea and I are still missing you very much. Chelsea hung a picture of you over his food bowl to try and cheer himself up. We wish you were here, even though it is terribly cold and we have colds.

After going to Bangkok over Christmas and New Year, I was truly impressed about how many people had such kind words about Tony. From security guards to restaurant owners to guitar players, Tony had friends from all walks of life, ages, backgrounds and personalities. He is considered to be a gentle and kind person who liked to make people laugh. There were also some funny stories about him telling people off, too. He lived a full and interesting life.

Tony loved to experience new things. His interests included travel, reading, trivia, eating, riding his bicycle and laughing.
He was born in England, but lived in Germany, Hong Kong, Thailand, Australia, Burma and Korea. He traveled extensively and his journeys in Africa made quite an impression on him.
His approach to life was full on enthusiasm and passion. No one could finish a meal faster than Tony, or be more interested and informed about water-boatmen or the name of the longest river in Mongolia.
He left Bangkok on the 30th of June, 2011 to visit his family in England. Shortly thereafter, he fell ill and was hospitalized. After an 8 week struggle for better health, he was making good progress. Unfortunately, he suddenly required emergency surgery on 14th September, 2011 and did not recover.
His mother Kath, his father Tony, his sister Lisa and her husband Andrew were with him. His partner of 10 years, Kat, was in Beijing and waiting for him to join her there. They had decided to move to China at the beginning of the year. Tony was looking forward to the move immensely. However, he took another journey instead.
Kat finally made it to England. Tony's funeral was held on 27th September, 2011 - 2 days before his birthday.
His bike, cat, family and friends continue to love him and miss him and always will.

My name is Graham Farrow and I knew Tony from our time at Scarborough College and we remained close until we, sadly, lost touch some years ago. I remember a great time we had in Bangkok in 1997.

I am just devastated at this news and cannot believe it. I was looking for Tony on Facebook so that we could rekindle our special friendship and came across this terrible news.

My heart goes out to Tony's parents and family. I love you Tony... you will always be in my heart.
