Happy memories from 2014 with a birthday outing to Pallant House Cafe Chichester.

Bernard Smetham, can this really be my former school teacher from South Hunsley and later lecturer at Hull College?
I'm sorry to say, that the 40 years that have gone by have faded my visual memory of you, but your words and teachings have lasted me my life time.
You were the single most influential member of teaching staff in my entire life: thank you and god bless.

Happy Occasion - 70 years Celebration

You lived a principled life underpinned by a strong sense of right and wrong. In all the time I knew you, I never heard you criticise anyone. You were also a person who shared your knowledge with anyone who would care to listen and worked hard to continue learning throughout your life. I am so grateful that I was able to spend time with you when you were in hospital just few short weeks ago – your mind was bright and sharp and had you not been laid-up I’d have said we had a great time. I’ll certainly miss our phone calls and I’ll certainly miss you Bern. But I know you will always be remembered with respect and admiration, always.
