Derek my beautiful kind, handsome adventurous husband and very brave. I love you and miss you. We were married 60 years. I was lucky when you picked me.
He was a good father. We had two beautiful children Elizabeth & Mark
He was in various jobs until he went in the army, he was a gunner in the tanks.
We met about 2 months after he was demob.
Derek worked for Heinz in Nottingham and was offered a promotion as a manager at the Bristol Warehouse which the family moved from Nottingham to Bristol. He said it was the best job he ever had, he worked hard until they closed and he then went to work at Sun Alliance in Bristol until he retired at 53 through heart problems.
Derek went through hard times when he had his heart operation, he was very brave.
We went on lots of holidays, America, Venice, Formentera etc..
We made lots of friends, met many rock stars. After Derek retired he worked with Ken. Ken had an auction house and Derek enjoyed that job very much.
Derek looked after us all and we all loved you, it was so upsetting and heart breaking when you passed away but I was with you when you passed. Derek was 81, I have lovely memories of Derek .
I will love you forever and never forget you till we meet again
Your ever loving wife
Margaret
