This evening I made a great big pot of minestrone soup to eat as a starter at Easter Sunday dinner. I tried to follow the recipe Gary always used as he made great minestrone soup. However there were time's in the past when he made this soup and I asked what other ingredient he used as it always tasted great he would always say "Ah that's my little secret". I was spoiled as he always made the Sunday dinners. When he would present the meal he had made too me he would always say "You wont get a better meal than that at any fancy restaurant" He was right His meals were delicious. He had what I would say to him a 'nack' for cooking. He could use different herbs to make a nice sauce and they always tasted great. Gary stated he found cooking relaxing. He used to always watch the cook programs on a Saturday morning and he could pick up and remember most recipe's. Both our mothers also loved his minestrone soup and they always took home some of his soup. I will think of him on Easter Sunday and remember all the Happy memories we shared at Easter.

Easter holiday weekend is upon us once more. Gary and I always loved our Easter weekend as well as all the other holiday weekends throughout the year, we were very close in that we made sure we spent these days together. I used to buy Gary an Easter egg and he would joking say I'm too old for an Easter egg" I would laugh and state "you cannot celebrate Easter without rolling an Easter Egg". Happy memories of all our Easter weekends together.

As they say "My heart was in my mouth watching the Six Nations Scotland rugby team beating France". What can I say. Gary would have been delighted at the result tonight.

It is nearly the end of the six nations Rugby. Scotland play their last game on Friday. They play France. Gary and I would have watched the game together. Will keep my fingers crossed that they win. I still have the signed Ruby shirt when Scotland beat France in 2006 at Murrayfield. It is hanging in my computer room. Every time I look at it often, it reminds me of Gary and those happy memories I cherish of all the games of Rugby we watched together. Gary loved watching his Rugby.

I had my car booked into Kwik fit in Hamilton for new tyres to be fitted. As it was a lovely day I decided to visit Gary's grave, (a little extra visit as I normally visit at the weekend). I laid a lovely bunch of 12 fresh roses, had a little chat with him to let him know how I was getting on in life. A woman visiting her father in the next grave began to speak to me. I take it that a lot of people born and bred in Hamilton recognise surnames. (I was born in Glasgow). She asked me if Gary came from Hamilton as she did not recognise the surname I informed her he was. It turns out all her family were born and bred in Hamilton. She was a very chatty lady. I am a bit more private. She stated that this is the first time she had seen anyone visiting Gary's grave but she knew someone had been visiting as the grave was well kept. We chatted away for a while. I decided to visit Gary's parents whilst I was there I placed a flower, taken from Gary's flowers as I thought it a nice gesture.

March 9th 2015 was when my mother passed away 13.52 hours. I was with her by her side when she took her last breath. As I was when Gary took his last breath.

Goodnight mothers. The saddest is today that both I and Gary lost our mothers, the same year 2015. I am glad that both Gary and I knew them, before they passed. I treasure both their memories. x

Ah what a great game, so close. Gary and I would have been shouting at the screen for Scotland to win. How I miss him being with me to cheer on Scotland. Happy memories of all the six nation games we watched together. However I know he watched this one as well with me as I believe I feel he is always by my side. As Gary when was palliative with Cancer I was by his side till the end.
