This Saturday is the Point to Point races held in Overton farm, Clyde valley. When Gary and I first moved to Carluke, Cannot believe it was 22 years ago already, we made great friends and this was one event we were always invited to by Robert and Jean, which we both enjoyed tremendously. If the weather was good it was a great day out. We mixed and enjoyed the company of various friends on those days each year it was held. It has not been on for the past 2 years due to the covid restrictions. However it is taking place this year. I am looking forward to it. My only sadness is that Gary is not here to be with me this Saturday and enjoy the day as we did together for almost 18 years before he passed. However he will be in my thoughts on Saturday and I know he will be in the thoughts of all our friends who also attended the Point to point. I have great memories of days gone by and I know, although I will be attending this day, he will be by my side.

I visited Gary's grave today and laid a fresh bunch of a dozen red roses. I let him know how I have been and that I still think of him constantly. Even though it is now 5 years ago that Gary passed away peacefully at home with me by his side I still think of him daily. It can happen just out of the blue, other times something reminds me of him. But mostly it is when I am going to bed at night I always say goodnight to him. When I look back on the day Gary passed, he got his wish and passed away at home with me by his side just the two of us together. It broke my heart however I would never had had it any other way.

Last night I decided to climb up to my loft and bring down all the photographs and videos I have of Gary that we took when we were on holidays over the years we spent together. I was just feeling sentimental as Valentines day approached which is today. I watched most of them and it brought back happy memories of Gary and I and the love we shared. He always seemed to light up in my company as I did with him. It was nice watching the videos and it made me wish he was still here. Wish I knew how to scan these videos and photographs to share with everyone who knew and loved Gary, so as they could see how happy we were together. Alas life can be cruel sometimes and a loved one is taken away far too soon. Still I have many a happy memory of Gary and the life we shared together and the videos are a little keepsake of our life together for me to watch in private, which brings me comfort. Miss receiving the valentine cards he sent me and I miss sending him a valentines card. Miss the man totally he is always in my thoughts day and night.

I will watch the next game in the six nations ruby. I have two brother in-law's who are also great Rugby supporters like Gary. My brother in law Charles who supports The Glasgow Warriors his local team and my Brother in law David who is Irish and obviously he supports his local team plus Ireland in the six nations games. I telephone them both after each match when their teams are playing in the six nations. I may be biased but if Scotland do not win the six nations I hope Ireland will.

I watched Scotland playing Wales today 'och' it was a near thing. Wales just beating Scotland. Gary and I would have been watching this game if he was still on this earth. However I know when I was watching it he was by myside. Gary was such a Scotland Rugby fan. He used to always tell me it was a gentleman's game not like football. In Rugby even though the players were large, muscular men, what the decision the referee made, no player would disagree with or confront the referee. They took it in their stride. Not like football. In a Rugby match you would never see the players behaving like they do in football. Truly a gentleman's sport. I miss watching Rugby on my own without Gary.

I visited Gary's grave last Sunday, as usual I laid fresh flowers on his grave and tidied up his grave. I had my usual chat with him. I like to lay flowers on his grave on a regular basis to let Gary him know I have not forgotten him and I still keep him close to my heart. This Monday is valentines day. Gary was always so romantic on this day, he never forgot to send me a valentines card as I did with him. I have kept them all.

Hooray Scotland Rugby Team Beat England Rugby team at Murrayfield. Gary and I would always watch the six nations Rugby, if not on our own with all our friends in Carluke. I am sure Gary is up there watching them and I know he will be delighted. More happy memories of our life together. Miss him terribly.

Monday the beginning of the week. When Gary was alive it was Monday that he got up very early to drive from Carluke to Keswick, the contract he worked on prior to his passing. He would return to me on the Friday, so as we could spend the weekend together. I asked Gary on many an occasion over the 17 years we lived together why he would not take a job nearer our home. Alas he informed me he could not afford too. I never questioned his decision. I knew he had responsibilities at that time that I did not have. I wish we could have spent more time together.
