Goodbye Grandad, I’ll always remember our football conversations with a smile. Always been great to me and my sisters and cousins.

Wishing I could have been there to pay my sincere regrets to a very good man and great Dad....as a youngster, I was always welcomed in Mr and Mrs Clayton's, home of my best friend Steve and we were always kept on the "right" track by them both. In later years, I very much enjoyed and appreciated the times with Steve and Mick at Scunny games, especially sharing a few beers and words of wisdom and laughs of times back at Bollibroke Rd and Riddings Junior with Ray....his ready smile, good humour and sparkle in his eyes will stay with me always! Yesterday's funeral was a fitting send off for dad. He would have loved to see so many people there and the great things that were said about him. My brother and I were very grateful to all who attended or for those that couldn't, sent messages of support and condolences. He will be hugely missed by us all. We are still in shock that he has actually gone.

A great Dad, a great Grandad a great Great Grandad and a good friend to many people. He leaves a big hole in our lives....Stephen....

A very great grandad and he taught me valuable lessons about life and he was very nice and friendly to talk to. He will be missed by all.

Ray I will miss our conversations on a broad range of topics and particularly along with Steve our pre and post match Scunthorpe United discussions. You were a good man, respected by all and it’s been a privilege to have known you. RIP Ray, you will be much missed.
