I can't believe my former squash opponent is no longer with us. Despite his unfathomable love for Man utd & questionable music taste Alan was a top man & loving wife & father to Di & the girls. I'll remember a man who always had a smile however hard life was and not many couples go through the setbacks Alan & Di went through in the mid 90s. I last saw Alan a few years back at my 50th & even though we hadn't seen each other for a few years he hadn't changed a bit. Rest in peace Alan & thank you for being a friend xx

Alan, you will always be remembered for being a man whom it was a pleasure to know, professional at work, a loyal friend but above all a wonderful husband to Di and a most loving, supportive and encouraging Dad to your girls. God bless you.

I knew Alan at school, both at Goodwyns and Sondes Place. Even in his youngest days at school he was so funny and a truly lovely boy. Although I only recently reconnected with Alan via Facebook it doesn’t take away the total shock of his passing and the devastation this must cause his family. I saw the many posts of the recent trip Alan took to Singapore with his family and what shone through was the closeness they all shared, the sense of fun and living life to the full. I send my deepest condolences and hope that the love that you all obviously share will bring you through this, the saddest of times. God bless.
