Over the years, on our many visits to the UK, we were always warmly welcomed and indulged by Jacquelyn and Philip. So kind and so generous ... and oh, how we laughed! Others have mentioned Jacquelyn's notes and letters. She was a great correspondent, always finding a uniquely amusing angle on any topic and choosing an appropriate card from her eclectic collection. So like her dear mother Annie in that regard.

We will miss the postcards, the emails and the very thought of her just being there.

I only knew Jacquelyn as the sister which Patricia didn't have. They had a very special bond. So when visiting the UK on numerous occasions we would be lucky enough to meet up with her and Philip. The last time was in 2018 just around Easter. In her usual Jacquelyn fashion she gave me a present of little chocolate Easter eggs with a little chick in a bag. I have kept the chick and it travelled with me back to Australia. Why would I keep it? Well it reminded me of the lovely giving person Jacquelyn was. It sits in my top draw and will do so to remind me of someone who in the short visits was such a beautiful person. Mischief and laughter. Generous with her time. Loving and caring. I am so happy to have know her. Sadly missed by many. Smiling down on us I know. Rosemary

Dear Jacqui, you never once missed a birthday or the opportunity to send one of your beautifully-crafted cards each one more heartfelt than the last - there have been so many over the years and I feel so lucky to have had someone like you looking out for me at every step of my journey through life. You possessed every good quality that a person could have, but above all, you were one of the most thoughtful and caring people ever put on this earth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sam xxx

Dear Jacqui. Are you as bewildered as we are. We shall miss your letters, notes and the odd phone call with news of your cats antics and Philips motor bike 'problems'. Every Christmas and Easter news and the gifts you kindly would send to our grandchildren, here and in Australia. We will keep in touch with Philip for further news. You can be assured we will remember you and will be with you and Philip on your memorial day. All our love Frances and Richard.

To my dear brother Philip and Jacquelyn's family - we were so deeply saddened and sorry to hear the news of your sudden loss. Just heartbroken. I have so many lovely memories of Jacqui - how she would look after us when we came to visit from Australia and surprise us with a packed lunch of cheese and onion sandwiches when we left, the cards she always sent which I will miss especially at Easter, the photos she took and would send to me in Australia, especially of my mum and dad as she knew I would be missing them. Jacqui, we will miss you. Much love Heather, Garry and Kip.

Dear Jaqui. You were taken from this life far too soon, you had so much to give. We only saw you and Philip for a few days each year on your visits to The Potteries, but it was such a pleasure to see you, you always arrived with a big smile and hugs. After your visits you always remembered to send us a thank you card/letter showing how nice it was to visit in your own funny sense of humour, on reading you made us laugh. At Christmas we looked forward to receiving a letter telling us what goodies you had bought with our M&S 'Dine in for Two' voucher that we sent. As with Philip you were our Cousin. Love from Diane, Carol and Brian Tomkinson.

Jacquelyn and her Mum, Ann, were the first people to visit my Mum in Guildford Hospital when I was born... and remained a wonderful friend to my Mum for over 50 years, even after her move to Australia. I had the privilege of being able to take the day off work when Jacqui and Philip last came to visit us and spend the day with them... of course - it was a day of laughter and astute observation as were all the days Jacqui touched. Remembering an olde soul.
