It was with shock and a great sadness that I learnt of your passing. More than forty five years ago I still remember all the happy times we had in Dalton and Eltham. You were always so positively life-embracing. Rosemary and I are both thinking of Philip at this difficult time.

My dearest, unique Jacqui - college buddy from 1969, then flat mate, then forever friend. You have left us far too soon, but like a shooting star, you leave a trail of glistening memories to sustain us through the dark bewilderment of your passing.
Although our meetings since 'the old days' have been few, our deep and enduring friendship has remained. Easy conversation has always returned in an instant; silly jokes from 50 years ago have continued to make us laugh; confidences have been kept. Memories of your gentle resilience, your thoughtfulness, dependability and commitment to others are framed within your ready smile, laughter and legendary correspondence.
Jacqui, my special friend, you're still only a thought away.

I adored Jacqui from the first moment I met her in 1988. It is so rare to meet someone like her; she was such a special person. Jacqui was forever kind and generous, supremely funny and could make anyone laugh, super sensible yet remarkably daft, full of energy and thoughtful towards everyone. I still laugh out loud at some of her antics - getting out every Valentine's card she'd ever received on 14th February every year, dressing up in finds from a jumble sale to meet teachers, grappling with her characterful cats ... She always had the knack of taking the mickey out of me ruthlessly but never offending me. I am so proud to have been her friend and she will always have a special place in my heart. I wish her peace and send her on her way with love.
