In addition to great cycling ability, he was also blessed with humility kindness and humor. We'd never have fond all those lovely routes if it weren't for him , leading at the front. There are lots of great memories I and many others shall treasure. Will miss him

I have known Nic for the best part of 30 years, he was the nicest man I ever met. I still look for him out front, when climbing a hill. I will miss him.

Even my bitch of a cat loved Nic. It wasn’t his artistic elegance or laconic wit that charmed her. I think it was his gentle, self contained confidence. He was a man who deeply and completely loved his family and knew that they adored him right back. What an accolade!
