Big Jack was like Ireland's Grandad. I can't think of anyone more beloved in the history of our nation. Thanks for all the memories.

RIP Big Jack. Gave us the joy of actually been able to support Ireland in the World Cup 1990 & 1994. Always in our hearts.

Jack Charlton - Dragged Sheffield Wednesday from the depths of the Third Division in the late 70's to the brink of the First Division and an FA Cup Semi Final. Left of his own accord despite being begged to stay - one of the few Wednesday managers not be to sacked.

Never to be forgotten by all at Sheffield Wednesday.

RIP Big Jack

That glorious summer of 1990 in Ireland when we dared to dream will forever be associated with Big Jack - car horns honking, huge gatherings around TV screens, flags waving proudly out windows and Ole Ole Ole blaring at end of every night......... Thanks for the memories. RIP

My sincere condolences to Pat & the extended Charlton Family. I was just 11 when Jack took the Ireland job. What he did for us & our national sense of pride defined my teenage years. He and the memories he created will live on in our hearts forever. Thank you Big Jack! 🇮🇪 Norma in Co.Cork.

A nation holds it's breath. We did in Genoa. An island so torn by war, United by football, and by a proud Englishman. Go raibh maith agat, Jack. Journeys we would never made only for you
