Robert was the most amazing man I’ve ever come across in my life he was always full of good spirit and good energy I was working at the nursery he would always come and visit us and always would crack jokes . Robert was one nice person we could never ever get angry or mad at him I’ve stopped working at the nursery and I was so sad to hear Robert has left us all but he’s deffo in a better place all my prayers are with Robert 💙

I worked with Robert at LTU for just over four years. I am saddened to hear this news, my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a great character and he will be missed.

I have been privileged to be a colleague of Robert at Leeds Trinity University. I will really miss him. The days when we "put the world to rights" over a cuppa at breaktime in the kitchen always brought welcome giggles and taught me lots. Robert has always been a very kind, warm colleague, with so many interests and stories to share! We have all benefitted from his skills, experience and knowledge. May he rest in peace. You are in my thoughts and prayers, Robert and your family. Lisa Madden x

I worked with Robert at LeedsTrinity and have worked with him and talked with him since. He only cared about the students which sometimes caused conflict with those in management who didn’t understand his beliefs, support for students, and his Christian beliefs. As I have said elsewhere he wasn’t the best at keeping to timescales for marking and meeting the University requirements...but that was because he cared more about people than procedures. I admired him as a person and a man and the world of education was better for him and the world has lost a man who cared , loved and respected those he worked with and who worked with him. He was unique and I shall miss him. RIP Robert

He taught at Leeds Trinity when l was education librarian there. Always friendly and involved, and the students loved his teaching methods (involving livestock occasionally). He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. Robert was a wonderful lecturer who always challenged me to challenge myself and as a graduate he continued to support and inspire my early teaching through his friendship, gentle encouragement and thought provoking questions. He never gave the answers but prompted me to find them for myself. His kindness will stay with me always. God bless x
