Robert taught me at Trinity and All Saints, 2002-2006. His lectures were always full of fun and energy and his passion for teaching and working with the wider community was always evident in everything that he did. Thank you Robert, for passing on your skills so that I have been able to share them with the children that I have taught. Your values live on in all of them.

Robert was a tutor of mine at Leeds Trinity from 2007-2011 and a very memorable one he was! His lessons were lively, interesting and he was such a compassionate man full of knowledge and a love for the world. I will always remember his classes with fondness - from sculpting and art gallery visits to having visits from baby chicks and sharing food from cultures around the world together, they were full of passion and always had a life lesson or message behind them. Thank you Robert for being a wonderful teacher.

Rob was one of my lecturers at Trinity & All Saints. He was such a lovely and caring man. His lectures were always incredibly imaginative and unique (often featuring quite a lot of livestock on a weekly basis!) 10 years on and I still use the things he taught us with my own class. A very inspiring man who had a clear passion for teaching. Sending my condolences to his family at this difficult time.

I feel so lucky to have worked with Robert at Leeds Trinity and I am so very sad to hear of his passing. It was a pleasure and joy to work with Robert; and sometimes surprising! His approach was always creative, thought provoking and challenging too, but always within a caring and supportive environment for the students. He clearly had a passion for learning and teaching with a boundless energy and enthusiasm for our work with the students. I just don't know how he did it sometimes, travelling across the M62, or getting the packed train into Leeds, then Horsforth, before then taking students on visits to places of worship / museums / galleries all to enable the students to experience first hand rather than by just sitting in a lecture room. His life experience, intelligence and deep sense of fairness, social justice and care for the students was admirable. He was so genuinely caring and supportive, and gave so much of his time to the students, he cared deeply about them and their development. I know that so many of our past students will have such fond memories of Robert and what he did for them. On a personal level, he was a great comrade and friend. I attach a photo of one of the last occasions we taught together, his passion for global learning still shining through. Rest in peace Robert.
