I am deeply saddened to hear of Roy's passing. First met Roy in the late 60s when he was a Red Cross Instructor at Brumby Wood Lane. Roy taught me and others how to do things properly. As well as first aid he taught us to play table tennis and how to become winners. I have always held Roy in high esteem. A true gentleman and a wonderful human being. My life has been enriched by knowing Roy. Thank you Roy and God Bless. Peter Dawson

Such sad news. Roy was a lovely kind gentleman. With his enthusiastic and contribution to football over the years he ensured generations of players enjoyed their football and had his own fond memories that he loved to share.
Roy will be sadly missed
RIP Roy,

What very sad news, Roy was a perfect gentleman and epitomised everything that was good about local sport. His enthusiastic and selfless contribution over several decades to football alone, ensured generations of players enjoyed their football as it should be played, both organised and fair. I can count myself lucky to have known him for almost half a century, a true stalwart and champion of sporting values.
Roy will be sorely missed.
