I believe in signs. Superstitions aren't everybody's thing but they are powerful when you are looking for answers, guidance. Upon losing a loved one, people can look for the most random ways to still be/feel close to them. I speak out to grandad, share my thoughts, ideas, achievements and fears. Grandad hears me, I believe that.

No matter how close you are with someone, even for the longest of time, once they are gone there are always questions you wished you had asked. Things you wished you had said. They maybe were the someone you would turn to and trust. The someone who genuinely cared and gave the best advice. That was my Grandad. The last of the honourable and honest people in my family unit to look upto. I never got the chance to say goodbye. My son and I were never given the opportunity. There weren't any feelings left unspoken between us though. The bond I had with Grandad and the bond between my son with his great grandad was with us all. I feel it still is. Alex, nearly 11 years old now, only ever having positive memories of Grandad, understands the loss of a beautiful soul. There is no doubt of how Grandad felt about him and is reassured that there are good people in this world.

We miss him so much and strive to make him proud. Alex will follow in his footsteps as I continue to share Grandads words of wisdom and ways.

If we think about it, the questions we have, have been answered. We need to remember what we were taught by their words and actions. We can just miss someone enough that we want to actually hear it from them one last time. That's why I look for signs.
