Never missed a year. Nain would pack us our picnic, which would contain the Queen's favourite, cucumber sandwiches without crusts. We would perch on a hay bale whilst watching the main ring events. Always have an ice cream cornet each, with a flake and sauce of course. Before and after, we would inspect each classic car, old machinery and tractors. You had stories about various vehicles relating to ones you've had throughout your life. Ypucould name them all at a quick glance and roll off history about the makes and models. We enjoyed the tents, spotting which animals came 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Thank you for taking me every year. To a fire and firework display each bonfire night, where you'd stand close and made me feel safe as I enjoyed my toffee apple. We'd do sparklers in the back yard by the window so Nain could see. At Christmas time you would drive me around to spot the biggest Christmas light display. Thank you for bringing me Halls and Soothers when I was poorly and later top up with lemsips. You were the last person I saw before taking my driving test, you believed in me and always managed to take away any pressure. You made me feel OK if I made a mistake or failed. Encouraged me in everything I did, happy if only I try my best. I passed my driving test first time, you was the first person I saw afterwards. You were proud. So many loving memories. Even visiting me at various jobs I've had, checking in on me. One time at a job in Holywell, you came by to make sure I was eating. You brought me an orange to keep my strength up. Such a good man. No one could ever live up to you. Xx
