I find myself at a loss for words to express my shock and sadness at the passing of Claude.
The following anecdote might help:-
Following a round of Pitch and Putt, we (the ExBT "lads") retired to the Dog and Doublet for lunch. After eating, Claude went outside for some fresh air, where he collapsed. An ambulance was called. When he came around, looking very pale and unwell, Claude was calm and more concerned about how Shirley would react to the news than he was about his own welfare. That, to me, spoke volumes about the man and his family values.
Claude will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Claude we have so many fond memories that we will treasure forever and you will be sadly missed.

A sad loss, my condolences. Claude was an absolute gentleman, I am proud to have known him. I particularly enjoyed our time together playing for the North Midlands County, such great memories.

Claude was a big part of my childhood, going on holiday with Shirl, Chris and Mike. We made great memories always filled with laughter. One of my dads best friends for many years and a true gent. Rest in peace Claude

Such sad news , Claude had to be one of the most genuine person I’ve ever met . He gave so much to his club and county and will be missed terribly . I have many fond memories of away days with the county will always remember Claude , Rubber duck and Maun leading the singing . Great times condolences To Shirley , Chris and all the family
