I've known Mark since we were pupil/student nurses catching the bus from Parc Beck Nurses Home. He was always full of fun and high jinx on the wards and the patients loved him for it! He often entertained us with tales of his Army life and was justifiably proud of his service. I have worked with him on and off ever since until I left NHDS. He was a wonderful friend and colleague that adored his wife and son - their loss is unimaginable. Deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

Generous with time, advice and always put his family, friends and colleagues before himself. A real gentleman, great nurse and thoughtful friend.
We miss your Markisms. Can’t think of Tip Tops, Opal Fruits or Marathon Bars without thinking of you!
Thoughts are with Ursula, Tom and all his wider family including the cats all of whom he loved dearly.

Mark Arnold died unexpectedly at home on New Years Day. We were in sixth form together at Cefn Hengoed school but it was as a colleague that I got to know him well. I had the pleasure of working with him in Morriston Hospital’s Intensive Therapy Unit for many years. He was a skilled nurse, hardworking, kind and fun to be with. He left ITU to work for NHS direct but took early retirement and went back to ITU to give of his help and skills during the pandemic. He has always been a man to give great service to his country having been a paramedic in the Royal Army Medical Corps and and a member of the mountain rescue team. He is a friend and colleague we can be proud of. This is a great loss to us but most of all to his wife Ursula and his son Tom. We love and miss you Mark.
