A real hero in the war and in civilian life R.I.P Captain Sir Tom.

When the day is done and the ball has spun in the umpires pocket away
And all remains in the groundsman's pains for the rest of the time and a day
There'll be one mad dog and his master, pushing for four with the spin
On a dusty pitch with two pounds six of willow wood in the sun.

A beacon of light and strength through these troubled times he faced it all with tremendous courage and humour a fantastic example to us all. His legacy will live with us all forever.

You will always live on within out hearts Captain Tom. A true gentleman who inspired everyone with your life stories, your determination and strength and most of all your kindness in helping others. Our thoughts go out to your beautiful family at this sad time, our tomorrows will be sad not having you with us Tom but our tomorrows will also be a better day knowing we all now have lovely memories of you. This is such awful news , to know you survived so much in your lifetime to now just being taken like that by this virus, so sorry it got you.
