Happy Birthday,Val. This would have been such a memorable day - four score and all that. Forever in my memory and January the 10th is always underlined.

THE NEW YEAR

Another year gone - in a flash and a simper.
Painful at first but done with a whimper
For it can cause aches -
Where no aches should be -
And it can cause hurt -
Between you and me.
So resolve to smile more -
Show compassion and care -
Compliment someone - where no need -
Plus to share -
Small bygone moments -
And make memories great -
And above all -
Put relationships straight!
Do not bemoan your ills to friends -
Sympathy wears thin -
Chat about good times - though rare -
And let the memories shine in -
So next time you meet a friend in the street-
Say ‘My - how well you look!’
So very dapper and life is sweet -
For life is an open book!

Missing you mum, at this your favourite time of the year. Christmas was, is and always will be special, thanks to the memories that you created. Thank you for those happy times and traditions which we have carried on today.
