Aunty Anna was the youngest of the Temple girls and was often fondly referred to as little Anna, sadly they have all gone now. She was always so happy, had a great sense of humour and mischievous grin and welcoming on our visits to UK and loved to catch up on our news and vice versa. I remember her and Bill taking us on trips around the country side and Anna always had a flask of tea, biscuit or bun with her to stop and have on our way.
She was devoted to Uncle Bill and they kept each other going in the later years. She loved her family and kept in touch with one and all. She will be sadly missed as an era closes.

Aunty Anna was my Mum’s younger sister and perhaps the most outgoing of the three girls, Lena, Dorothy and Anna. Anna was the one who welcomed the Australian side of the family to Northumbria, made sure that you knew places you should visit and of course always welcomed us to her and Uncle Bill’s ‘Coquet Cottage’ for dinner.

Anna would entertain us with stories, walks, fun and laughter! She had a great interest in people and whether it was my friends she had just met or my girls as they were growing up she connected with everyone and would often have a little gift or story to break the ice.

Anna loved life and adored the hills around Alnwick where Bill would drive us in earlier years. Between them they knew every country lane and village corner which we would explore, taking the back roads from Powburn back to Rothbury.

My memories of Powburn, Coquet Cottage, her and Bill are very special. With Anna’s passing the family in Australia are all feeling that our connection to Mums heritage is now missing. She was a gorgeous, compassionate aunt and will be sadly missed.
