Mike, you have been a fantastic grandfather to my girls and an inspiration to me. There seemed to be nothing you couldn't put your mind to from decking to alarm fitting. Your touch is everywhere in the home. I will miss your friendly smile so very much. X

I was both shocked and saddened to learn that Mike had passed away. The last time we met (Physics Christmas lunch 2019) he was his usual cheery self. I knew him for 20 years as a colleague in Physics and that is how I will always remember him – diligent in his work but always done in a pleasant and cheerful manner.
My sincerest condolences to his family at this sad time.
