So many happy memories of Bernie; school days, Bernie and John at Nuala’s parties in early 70s - pints in hand, Old Girls lunches at St Paul’s followed by session at The Garden House. More recent years our regular SPG lunches in Birmingham. Bernie lit up every occasion with her warmth and humour. Will really miss her but know she’s where she wanted to be with John

Auntie Bernie, I am not sure if I ever told you this but you were and are my inspiration. All my life I have just wanted to travel, even though it was expected for me to settle down and have children.... When I look at the relationship you had with uncle John, I couldn’t want for anything more.
You were completely fulfilled ❤️
You had the love of your life and still gave your heart to exploring the world. No sacrifices.
If there is anyone in the world that I could hope to be like, it’s you.
You mastered the perfect balance of family, love and freedom. You did have a little trouble with Spotify but you got there in the end 😉 🎵
