I was really sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. As a young player, playing at Vulcan, Dave was one of the people I looked up to. He always made time to talk to the younger players and give them advice or just talk to them in general. And when he said you’d played well, it made you feel 10ft tall. But most of all he was a Gentleman and someone who’ll be sadly missed.

My grandad, the bank of high town to me and so much more. There will never be words that explain the pain I feel knowing I’ve lost you; I’m so angry at the world for taking you at a time when you just weren’t ready.

I know you were taken peacefully and I’m so glad we didn’t see any suffering but that doesn’t make it any easier when you had so much more to live for. These past two weeks have been the hardest and there’s times I just can’t accept your gone. There’s a quote that’s really stood out to me recently and it says “ a life that’s been loved is a life that’s been lived”

You certainly lived your life and the broken hearts that are left show how hard you loved.
