Dear Toby,

Funny Boy, I’ve thought about you every day recently. Thank you for being such an instrumental part of my life, and for introducing me to so many wonderful people. Over the years our contact has waxed and waned, but when we have spoken it’s like no time has passed between. Recently, we’ve spoken very regularly, and I’ve missed talking to you these past few weeks.

Thank you for all the wonderful memories. I’ll never forget the parties we had, or the hilarious conversations. I miss you terribly. You will always be in my heart, dear friend 💛

It's heartbreaking to hear about Toby. I hadn't seen him much since we were kids but I have many happy memories of playing together with our brothers Nath and Tom. My thoughts are with the family and everyone left behind. Much love from the States - Winter xxx

Dearest Toby, Thank you for your friendship and love throughout your life, although I fervently wish I'd had it for a lot longer. You grew from a sweet smiling placid baby to a lively and mischievous boy who thought and acted quickly (although not always alone - you know who you are...).

You had a talent for words and a unique way of putting things, but you never found your niche in the adult world, although you hoped you would find it in the Hanley Park apprenticeship you were due to start. But you did enjoy life, and had a great social life when you were younger.

I'll miss you so much for your kindness, perception and humour, but you'll always be part of me, and I'll always love you. Thank you for being one of my two fantastic sons - it's been a privilege xxx
