Grandma was a loving, caring and truly kind person who always sought to make others happy. It is of great regret that I did not have more time to spend with grandma and grandad, but I often find myself thinking of them both and cherishing the memories and stories of their unbridled kindness. Throughout my life, grandma has shown me how to love, how to support and in later years has gifted a powerful example of how to be strong. I will forever admire her resilience and determination under circumstances that many couldn’t have dealt with. She would always make a special effort to smile and speak when I would see her, even when it became visibly more difficult for her to do so. In some ways, this made much of my later memories all the more special, because I was aware of how precious the time we had to spend together was. I knew I had to cherish every conversation and every moment. I can remember Sam and I visiting grandma shortly before Sophie got married, where we went to show grandma our wedding readings. As I read it to grandma I could see how much that moment meant to her, and it’s my hope that in moments like these, grandma realised how important she really was in all of our lives. I can only hope that she understood how much those moments will always mean to me, and how much those memories help me to remember her as the incredible woman she was. Love you forever grandma ❤️
