There was no one I admired more than my Nanna. She was a force of nature.
She could never slow down, not event for a moment – despite the weary protestations of my Grampy (and everyone else). There was too much to do, too many people who depended on her. That was just who she was - the very embodiment of compassion and self-sacrifice. Her sense of duty, her dedication to her friends and family, was staggering at times. She could never do enough. There was never enough time.
And she was right – there never is enough time. What I would give to tell her just one more time how much I love her. How I wish I was more like her. How she was the most amazing person I have ever known. And if I could be half as loving and generous and dynamic and courageous and intelligent as she was, I’d be able to look back on my life with satisfaction and pride.
I’ll think about you and Grampy every day for the rest of my life. I’ll never forget you. I love you with all my heart and I always will.
Until we’re all together again,
Your loving Grandson,
Lee
