A memory that I will cherish forever about my dad is when I was a young girl. I would walk down to the Derby Arms on a Sunday afternoon, rain or shine to meet him. I would even bring his coat and a umbrella. I’d peep my head in around the door, and someone would always shout “Hey Tommy your daughter is here to walk you home” Then dad would always take me to the village shop for goodies, and not just for me, he’d buy sweets for us all back home, not forgetting the block of ice cream and wafers too.
