My beautiful wife, Today is the anniversary of the day we met. All those years ago!
Knowing me, I wouldn’t remember those sort of things but you my sweet wife would always remember the dates of all our first milestones.
And we would usually celebrate today just like any other anniversary, together.
Probably watching the races, or out for a drive.
It didn’t matter where we were, or what we were doing. As long as we were side by side.
I miss your smiles in the car, the way you would watch me while I drove with such loving eyes. Hand on mine as I change gear.
Driving is a lonely chore now.
It’s not the same.
I still see you in the front seat, smiling.
And one day, I’ll get to feel your hand on mine again.
Just as you hold my hand now forever
I couldn’t let you go without you holding my hand as you would always do through anything tough.
It was us against the world, and no matter what, as long as I we had each other nothing else mattered.
I promised you I would look after our babies.
And I’m trying my hardest.
But I very much look forward to the day I’m resting at your side.
Together once more.
