A long time friend of Vincent and Kathleen Cockburn and family who moved to Australia in 1968 but always kept in touch and visited Eileen and their beloved Whitley Bay a few times . Thinking if you my friend Erica, love Clare x

Eileen was my mum's lifelong friend  from childhood. She often came to our home  and was a much loved 'auntie' to me and my brothers while we were growing up. Our two families have shared and supported each other through many of life's joys and difficulties. My mum died in 2019 and now with Auntie Eileen gone, it feels like the end of an era. May they both rest in peace - with the occasional gossip over coffee perhaps?

I am really glad Eileen and my Dad found happiness in later life. She was always a very gracious lady.
