Jim, going to miss exchanging Christmas cards each year. Fond memories of visiting Ryton when we were younger. Thoughts and prayers to John and Bernard. Your cousin Josephine xx

We at St Augustine's, Carlisle were deeply shocked to hear of the sudden death of Jim.
He was a valued member of our church community and will be greatly missed by all of us.
May he rest in peace and rise in glory

Well Jim, many years ago I remember saying to you that Australia is only 24 hours away. Right now it seems a lot further than that. Jim, I tried hard to get back to Ryton, to be there with John to support you on your way, but it just wasn’t meant to be. You were the perfect gentleman and a very gentle man. You always remembered to send birthday cards, not only to me but to my family too. It still hasn’t sunk in Jim and I miss you so much. Say Hi to Mam, Dad and Gerard for me and to all our other family and friends when you get there Jim. I love you. Bernard

Jim, you were the best of men and you are deeply missed. I thank you for your love & support over many years. My parents adored you and you were so good to them. Thank you for being a great uncle & excellent role model to James & Grace. I will always remember what you wrote to me after Dad died - "You have gone no further from us than to God, and God is very near". May you rest in peace dear Jim with your beautiful parents - Vincent & Ann and your loved brother Gerard. All my love, Alison Ridge
