We would like to express our sincere thanks to all family, friends and neighbours for their kind messages of sympathy, cards, floral tributes and to all those who attended Mams funeral. Your generous donations for Cancer Research UK raised £350.00. Thank you Janet Green for the most perfect and comforting service and celebration of Mams life. Thanks to Janice Mussett and staff at The Benwell Hill Cricket Club, for the lovely welcome we received afterwards, along with refreshments and a lovely buffet. Special thanks to Josie Johnston and staff at WS Harrisons & Sons, for their care, kindness, support and professionalism for the funeral arrangements. Thanks also to Fantasia Florists, Shields Road, Byker, for providing the most beautiful floral tributes.
Stephen, Christine, Brian and family.

I remember being taken to my Auntie Addie’s house as a little girl, of going to Blackpool with my Granny and all the other ladies in the darts group too.

You’ll be back with them all now Auntie Vivienne, I have no doubt about that. They’ll all have missed you as much as we will miss you now.

I have some lovely memories where you featured so strongly. My granny counted you as another daughter alongside my mam, and I know my mam thought of you as a kind of soul-sister and longest friendship ever, she shared that with you.

I need to speak of the pure love and devotion that you shared wherever you went, and especially the love you shared for all of my family, as well as being totally devoted to your own.

I wish I’d come to see you more, but know that you’ll be welcomed with open arms by everyone up there in heaven.

I’ll miss you x love forever

Grandma, you were the most loving, caring person I’ve ever known. Always there for advice. I don’t think there was ever a question about life, you wouldn’t know the answer to. If ever I was feeling under the weather or I had hurt myself, instead of going to the doctors, I would come and see you. You would always diagnose me and say “wait there”, go upstairs and come down with something to sort me out.

But what am I going to miss about you the most.

Popping in during the week when I was off work. Watching your programmes, ‘Doctors, Dickensons Real Deal & A Place in the Sun’ Uncle Steve would make me a sandwich.

Or, if I didn’t manage to pop in through the week, you would give me the text…”Do you want to come for tea”. The answer to that would always be “YES please”. Thursday night was usually always curry night at 15 Winslow place, tremendous!

But our day was always Friday. Taking you to Wallsend. Same routine every week. Butchers, Fruit shop, newsagents, Dickson’s for the savaloys and pork pies then Savers and home for dinner. If I was on nightshift the night before you would just go yourself on the bus and I would wake up with a text, “Savs are here”. Then write the shopping list for Steve. I would take him up and pick him back up. He would get in the car and say, “your granny’s not going to be happy I’ve got this”, so would come in with the bags with him as ‘back up’.

Then Olivia came along and knocked me off top spot (deservedly so). “Grandma-Steve”
She loves you so much and so do I.
Sleep tight Grandma, Thomas xxx
