Christopher RichardWINFIELDBarbecuers of the world mourn the loss of one of their icons this week, with the death of Chris on Friday 12th July, 2019 at St. Andrews Hospice, Grimsby. Never happier than with a glass of red in one hand and some prongs in the other, he loved entertaining, and had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and special. Chris was loving, generous and hilarious and life was never boring when he was around. He was a keen sports fan and his years as a manager at Tetney Juniors FC provided many happy memories. Chris also loved to travel the world, particularly when it meant spending time with his sons David, Matthew and Edward, his partner Jean and their many grandchildren. We will continue our adventures in your honour Chris. To celebrate his wonderful life please join us at The Crematorium, Weelsby Avenue, Grimsby DN32 0BA at 3.40pm on Friday July 26th 2019. Wear whatever makes you comfortable, Chris always did. No flowers please, donations may be made payable to a wonderful facility "St. Andrews Hospice" Peaks Lane, Grimsby DN32 9RP. A donation box will also be available in the grounds of the crematorium after the service. Enquiries Tel. Mashfords Funeral Service, Cleethorpes 01472-200004

Chris had a great sense of humour and was straight talker. Our clandestine meetings a few years ago when we were working on the nomination for Jean's MBE were something out a spy thriller. I always had a great liking and respect for Chris. I'll always remember his support to me when my wife had bowel cancer and his insights into getting through it. The world is a poorer place without him.

Fondest memories of one of the nicest people and the best boss ever. Chris will never be forgotten and will be barbequing up there with the rest of them always taking charge. We will miss you. Lots of love Julie and Mark Sweeney xxx
