FredaBARBERPeacefully passed away in her sleep after a long illness on the 16th of March 2020 aged 90. Dear wife of the late Ray, loved and cherished mum of Christine and Lesley, mother in law to Steve and Ady and adored Nana and great nana. Freda is now at peace with her husband Ray. She will be sadly missed and loved forever. We would like to thank Fosse Healthcare for the wonderful care of our Mum. The funeral service will be held at Markeaton Crematorium Main Chapel on Thursday 9th April 2020 at 11.20am. Flowers welcome or donations for Treetops Hospice may be given at a later date. Unfortunately due to the recent situation only immediate family can attend the service but please remember Freda in your own way. Maybe light a candle, a little prayer or raise a glass. We will be having a celebration of Freda's life at a later date.

Nana, I had a lovely dream last night that you visited and stood doing me some ironing, then we sat in the garden watching the kids play and eating banana and custard (random I know) it felt so real, if only aye!
I miss you so so much it still hurts as much as it did day you left. You are always in my thoughts and forever in my heart.

Oh Freda, I raised my cup of tea to you this morning. I miss our morning cuppas and chats together, we always, always had a giggle! You’re back with Ray, right where you belong. I’m sad that we all couldn’t say a proper goodbye to you today, but I can’t wait to celebrate your life when we can! Maybe a certain baby girl will be here to make an appearance, who knows! Sending big hugs and love to all your family, thank for welcoming myself and the other carers into your home and family. You truly were the most special lady and I feel so privileged to have spent over 2 years with you! I’d always tell you to be good when I left and you’d always say “ay, I’m always good” well now you can be as cheeky as you like! Lots of love, miss you xxx
