Mr Weston was a very warm & fun teacher whom I've never forgotten. He showed me so much encouragement in my teens which influenced my love of art and painting. Rest in Peace. 💗

Ray Weston was hugely influential in my life and encouraged my artistic talents. I saw him regularly In Loughborough town and we both spent time to talk. A genuine role model and will be sadly missed by so many people.

Apologies for this being late.
I was lucky enough to have Sian as a close friend during my teenage years. I used to visit the Weston's house on Forest road, all 'Habitat-ed' and marvellous, with its various shades of purple ( a funky oh so modern colour in the '70's ) and I was jealous !
I remember Mr Weston ( I can't call him 'Ray') being a quietly confident, open and gentle man who was also clever/smart with a sharp and wry wit ? Do I remember Kate Bush playing in the background a lot ??! Habitat and Purple and Kate Bush and easy going and arty .....memories.
Rumour has it that he was pretty good at art ,and I do wonder how much influence that had on me ,in my becoming an art lecturer ( similar to Sian). I remember his work on the walls of the house and I was so impressed. It looked 'proper'.
I remember Mr Weston as well dressed man, with a sense of dignity without any self importance. There was also a strong sense of playfulness and mischief about him that I thought was wonderful.

My thoughts and love go to Sian and Chris and the family.

Incredible teacher. Used to look forward to my lessons with him. Had the privilege of meeting him occasionally in adult life too. RIP and condolences to his family.
