I trained and worked for John between 1973 and 76, he was a lovely man , genuine, honest and a boss worth working for. He set customer
respect and standards I took through the rest of my driving career. One of the few men who who I will always remember with respect. My belated sympathy to Lillian, Pat and Michael.
I hope your latter years were peaceful John

It is with much sadness that we accept the passing of John Coates. John and Lilian (dec.) were life-long friends of Jim (dec) and Elizabeth Mansfield. The four of them originally met in Northern Rhodesia, now Zambia, in Solwezi. Their bond continued through all their lives. In latter years they spent many holidays together and visited one another regularly during their retirement in England.
We have so many fond memories of John’s laughter and positive attitude. He was generous, kind and fun to be with. We loved his many stories. He will be missed as true family friend.
We wish Pat, Michael and all the family condolences on the passing of a very special person in their lives.
Elizabeth, Peter, Anne and Christine Mansfield xxxx

My Dad. Quite a man. You gave me so much. I will always remember the music, the travel. Family meals. Drives up Dad roads when on holiday. Roads never fit for vehicles. Your love of the sea. Happy times at Hunstanton.
Finally reunited with mum.
RIP you have earned it for sure.
