I read about Ms Bowley's passing with sadness. I was never sporty but she was always cheerful and encouraging. She and Miss Stone used to drive past our bus stop every morning -we were convinced it was a 'hat check' and would scurry about to get our hats out of our bags and onto our heads to avoid Hat Detention! But they were always laughing as they passed us and I am sure they thought it was great fun-I don't think they ever gave any hat detention! They were both generous and kindly, although I think I did not appreciate how much at the time. Let them be at peace together.

She was my PE teacher at Notre Dame late 1970s. She was such fun and I didn’t really appreciate until later in life, quite a trailblazer. Loved to play hockey under her care and coaching!

Your enthusiasm at school was infectious and made an impact on many. A much loved and highly respected teacher to everyone she met.

Rest in peace Miss Bowly.
