Salisbury-Rood JpALANAlan died on the 13th August 2024, at home, following a long illness, aged 72 years.

Much loved husband of Pam, devoted Dad to Emma and Mark, father-in-law to Chris and Natasha and proud Grandad /Dandan to Evie, Jorja, Molly and Ralph. A funeral service will be held at St Luke's Church, Parliament Street, Derby DE22 3RT, on Wednesday 11th September at 12:00 noon.

Donations, if desired, for Cancer Research UK, may be given at the service.

I haven’t seen Alan since 1968 since leaving Noel Baker. I have fond memories of the years before of Alan being part of our band of “misfits”.
I particularly remember him smoking a pipe as he was not supposed to smoke cigarettes.
I feel his passing as loosing something that linked me back to the UK, and hope that memories of Alan will sustain you all during this difficult time.
