Last Thursday we had a record breaking day on funeral-notices.co.uk with over 1.3 million pages viewed in a single day, 1,309,139* pages to be exact. That breaks all previous records since we launched the site in August 2018.
Behind the headline stat we had some great activity on the site too:
  • 105,028 Unique Users came to funeral-notices.co.uk
  • 126,098 visits to the website
  • 542 people signed up to register on funeral-notices.co.uk
  • 1624 tributes, candles and photos were added to loves one's notices on funeral-notices.co.uk
All in one single day, Thursday 7th January 2021.

How Much Money Was Raised For Charity That Day?

With such large numbers coming to browse their obituaries on the website it is understandable that we also had one of our best days for donations. More than £7,000 was raised by friends and family making online donations on the notices we publish for you. That is a huge amount in one day and means we are well on the way to a record breaking monthly total for the amount we transfer to your local and national charities.
Thank you for working with us to make our donation service so successful. It stands to reason that with the audience numbers we have we should offer the opportunity to be able to donate online and now the donation totals speak for themselves. From the charities who receive the much needed funds and ourselves: thank you.

What Does This Mean to Me?

For Funeral Directors placing print and online notices with us it means you get an online presence on the UK's Number 1 site for funeral notices, for free. Have a look at our 'Most Read Notices This Month' here, it shows the potential of an online obituary as well as providing some heart-warming examples of the love and support expressed as tributes on a loved one's notice; although there are restrictions on attending funerals at the moment there are thankfully no restrictions preventing people from creating a safe place online to collect memories, love and support at such a difficult time.

Every notice we publish appears alongside your logo. The most read notice on our site currently has been seen by 5938 people since it was published on 18th December meaning 5938 people have seen the logo and business overview of Gary Staker Funeral Directors.

In another example, the notice for the late Alan Armstrong has been viewed 2395 times and has raised £300.00 + Gift Aid of £60.95 so far for Marie Curie. Because the Funeral Director is a Preferred Partner of Funeral Notices, they are able to direct the family and friends of the late Mr Armstrong to their own website to view their notice and make donations using the 'Funeral Notices' tab at the top of their page: View their website here.

What Does This Mean for funeral-notices.co.uk

For us this means we are on the right path to achieve our goals for 2021. This year we would like to smash previous annual donation totals and raise over £1 million pounds for charity. We cannot do this without your help. Adding our online donations to a notice, even if you are in a contract with another provider for online donations, will help us to achieve that result sooner than the December goal. You've seen we have the audience ready to interact with and donate on the notices we publish for you, so why not take advantage and add a donation profile to every notice published? (With family consent).
Another goal we would like to achieve this year is to increase the number of people taking advantage of our free online notices during the pandemic. We would love to get to the stage where every bereaved person is able to announce the passing of their deceased friend/relative and for that notice to give them a place to gather their photos and memories and collect tributes from their local community as well as our global audience. We need your help to fulfil this goal. Please feel free to offer an online notice for every client you deal with who does not want a notice in one of our papers. This in turn will also help us to achieve goal number one if, as many of those free online notices as possible, also include an online donation.

The simplest way to book an online notice is to book it using our simple self serve booking portal. We have put together a useful guide to booking online notices HERE
Online notices may also be booked by emailing (fdteam@funeral-notices.co.uk) or calling the team (03444 060276) as you usually would to place a notice (please request online only).
