Help your families view their notice online
Published 06/03/2023
Funeral Notices makes it easy for families to access their notice online as soon as it is published. You might have noticed when booking notices we ask for a customer email. This is designed to help you help your families to connect with their notice online as soon as it is published. It saves you time having to email the family yourself and means they can get on with sharing the notice, making donations in memory and collecting tributes, memories and photos on their everlasting tribute page. We will only use the email address to send this email - we will not add it to any marketing or contact lists and they will not receive any further communication from us. When you add an email address for the family, you will need to click to confirm you have consent to share the email with us. This also confirms that we will not use the email address for any other purpose - meaning it complies with all Data Protection requirements.

Funeral Notices hits historic milestone with five million notices published
Published 08/02/2023
This week saw us hit an historic landmark with the publication of our five millionth notice. In recent years funeral-notices.co.uk has grown to become the go-to place for people to pay tribute to their loved ones by adding virtual candles, photographs, videos and messages of condolence. Tribute pages also come with the option to include an online charitable collection. Passing the five million notice milestone is bittersweet for Funeral Notices Director Darren Minns. Darren said: "We deal with loss and bereavement every day and are incredibly sensitive to the needs of the people we support. Whilst we do not 'celebrate' this milestone as such, we are extremely proud that we are trusted by more than 5 million families to honour the legacy of their loved one. "Being the most popular tribute site in the UK comes with a tremendous amount of responsibility and is something we take very seriously. Funeral Notices will always be a safe place for the bereaved to pay tribute to their loved ones." Funeral Notices hosts an unrivalled audience every day, with some tribute pages amassing thousands of tributes and raising thousands for charities. That loyal audience is why Darren believes Funeral Notices is the number one site of its kind. Darren says families love seeing the tributes on their pages and it really contributes to a lasting legacy for their loved ones. "I recently received some feedback from a lady who had sadly lost her granddaughter. She told me she found peace when adding tributes to her granddaughter's tribute page. She said 'It's like you have taken a weight off me and I get to say the things that I can't say out loud to her. I feel more peaceful and content afterwards.' "Comments like that make our jobs worthwhile and is why we will continue to invest in funeral-notices.co.uk to ensure it remains the number one platform in the UK for people to pay tribute to their loved ones."

Donations in Memory
Published 01/02/2023
In January, the total amount donated to charity in memory of loved ones broke all previous records. The generosity of people, in the midst of a cost of living crisis, blows us away. Almost 50% of notices published included a donation facility. The average amount a person donated has also increased to £38. That's such positive news for families and the charities who benefit. It would be really good to see those numbers increase as the year progresses, so we've put together a few tips to help you help families raise even more for charity in their loved one's name.

Book an online notice
Published 20/01/2023
Following conversations with your Account Manager, you should know we have made some changes to the benefits of being an Online Partner. All of you now receive at least 2,000 digital advert impressions per week on funeral-notices.co.uk. An advert impression is the number of times your advert is presented to our audience. One other change is the introduction of a charge for online notices of £30 + VAT, £36 to your families (the amount you pay us will be £30 minus your discount). All of you have had a free trial of online notices and will be aware of the benefits they provide to your families. Online notices are considerably cheaper than newspaper announcements as they don't include the costs associated with printing a paper. With the cost of living being as it is at the moment, online notices offer real value to your families. An online notice helps people to announce an upcoming funeral, giving people the opportunity to celebrate the life of a loved one and pay their respects. Other key benefits of an online funeral notice are: * Raising awareness of the funeral date and time. * Creates a digital memorial to share memories and send and receive condolence messages. * Collecting vital in-memory charitable donations.

If you book and pay for an online notice in January, February or March you will receive an additional 5,000 advert impressions on funeral-notices.co.uk.

Once your booking is complete your Account Manager will be in touch to confirm your receipt of this offer. You will receive 5,000 impressions each week for the full month and then again if you book one in the next month. If you are still taking part in a free trial of online notices, please offer one to every family who decide not to have a newspaper notice. This will help your families and provide you with a notice for every funeral you arrange.

How to get the best audience for your funeral notices
Published 19/01/2023
Funeral notices, obituaries, intimations - they are all very similar in what they describe: announcing the passing of a loved one. But what is the best way to make this announcement? During the last century it was custom to place a notice in a local newspaper, but is this still an effective way to ensure every generation of family and friends are aware of the passing of a loved one? Our answer to that is yes. Well we would say that wouldn't we? We have over 70 local newspapers throughout the UK and yes, people do still read and buy newspapers. What we also know is that making an announcement in a newspaper alone limits the potential audience. The best way to ensure your notices are inclusive of every generation is to make sure it is also published online.

Christmas Memorial Wall for 2022
Published 24/11/2022
We recently launched our Christmas Memorial Wall for 2022. The virtual tribute page is designed to allow people to share photographs, memories, light virtual candles and pay tribute to their loved ones, whose loss is particularly poignant during the festive season. It is a free service we offer to the public to help them remember their loved ones virtually this Christmas. Darren Minns, Commercial Director for Funeral Notices said: "Creating a special place for our audience to remember their loved ones at Christmas remains a priority for us. "The Memorial Wall we created in 2021 received over 5,700 tribute messages and hopefully provided comfort to thousands of people at Christmas time. The page was shared on social media more than 280 times. I am proud that we have been able to offer this free service to people. It is important to us that we continue to support communities through the upcoming festive period. "Family and community are at the heart of everything we do. Friends and families of loved ones will be able to visit the memorial page whenever and wherever they choose and can add unlimited tributes, photographs and baubles to our virtual Christmas Memorial."
