NickBOWESNick was one of those people who was liked by everyone who met him. He was a brilliant teacher, colleague and friend and highly respected by students and staff at Parliament Hill School. We were so lucky to have him in our Science Department - he will be remembered with affection and thanks by all those he taught and supported. I will always remember his sense of humour, making everyone laugh at his videos of experiments (flames were a favourite of his). Rest in peace Nick and know that you are missed and cared about.

I knew Nick for a very long time.
We had some great times together and I can honestly say that he was one of the best people I have ever know.
His kindness, calmness and preference was truly wonderful. Everyone that had the pleasure of being in his company should be thankful that they had this opportunity in life as there are not many people that are as special or as blessed as Nick Bowes.
May you rest in peace my dear friend, I will always remember our good times with each other with great fondness.

Nick was one of the people who made me feel at home at Parli from my very first day. He had a wonderful warm sense of humour and an inclusive approach that didn't matter if you taught Science or something else. He was funny and caring and I really liked him. I will remember the science films he and Will made where they did all the experiments that the kids wanted to do but were too dangerous. His love and excitement about his subject shone through and I really felt his love of passing that on. I will miss him!

Nick, You were an inspirational teacher who bought fun to learning. How lucky were the students to have you. Your videos with Will still make me smile and the best pantomime dame ever! You were a fabulous colleague. We miss you. Love Gill x

I have had the privilege of working with Nick within our very close knit Science Department since 2015. Over that time I got to know Nick not only as a colleague but also a friend. He was one of the most kind and considerate people I’ve ever met and the most wonderful teacher, not only to students but less experienced staff too. He had a gentle, easy going presence, which made him so approachable and easy to talk to if something was bothering you, and you could be sure that however he responded it would always be without judgement and with your best interests at heart. I will remember him for this, and also his fabulous sense of humour, his love for high end electronics like his 4K TV, Nintendo switch, his practical jokes, Zelda, his love of good quality coffee, Gail’s lunches, cooking and our long chats in shared free periods. On the 26th June the teaching profession lost one of it’s best, and the world too. I will remember him with much love and fondness and hope he has finally found the peace he was searching for x

Nick Bowes was a teacher that always had your back. he was funny and supportive and made a level chemistry a place to learn and enjoy rather than stress. i will never forget how much one person was able to captivate the room with his jokes. i have found it hard to even think about him passing but i know he has made a lasting impact on everyone he taught and we are all lucky to have him as our teacher. I remember him telling our class how when he was younger he wanted to be an astronaut. Thank you Nick Bowes for being an amazing teacher
