Who would have thought when we moved in next door to you 56 years ago that our friendship would grow and last over all these years. You became part of our family, joining in all our family celebrations and traditional Ukrainian festivities.
You became my "adopted" mum, listening to my problems and giving advice. I remember our Saturday morning coffee hours and your delicious homemade apple pies. We would put the world to rights and have a laugh. I miss you but I have our photos and many memories to hold on to.
May you find peace Eileen now you are reunited with your loving husband John and dear friend Jack. Love and miss you Maria x

Eileen was such a presence from my childhood living a few doors down and, even as the years have passed, we touched base every now and then. One of the best friends mum ever had, even with the distance. We'll miss her humour, the cream cakes she always got in for our visits and the 'updates' she'd need on everyone as soon as we sat down, surrounded by all of her treasured trinkets. Finally reunited with John, may she rest in peace. Nikisha & Teresa
