Douglas McLeanAUSTINPassed suddenly on 8th January 2020. Beloved husband of Muriel, loving dad of Diane, Kim, William, Douglas and Holly, much loved father in law and papa. Will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service will be held at Kilmarnock Independent Funeral Parlour 4 Mauchline Road Hurlford KA1 5BZ on Friday 17th January at 12.00pm, Funeral thereafter to Kilmarnock Cemetery for 1.00pm, all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please in lieu donations for The British Heart Foundation would be appreciated.

Hi Dad, I’m sorry I’ve not been to see you for a while or wrote to you. I’ve just been a bit overwhelmed. It breaks my heart that she’ll never get to know you. I keep telling her about how her Papa would have loved taking her on walks and telling her all about the local history! I love you Dad. I miss you every second xxxxx

I like to think all the Dads in heaven get to come down today and spend it with their loved ones. But you must invite them. Say their names, play their favourite music and tell that joke that made everyone groan. They will come. The thing about love is, it doesn’t die, you see. It places precious parts of souls in loved one’s hearts and that, that lasts an eternity. Much longer than we can imagine. So, if you are finding today hard, look for them in the moments… I believe they’re trying really hard to let you know, they’re still here.
