BETTY RICHARDSBetty Richards, one of a pair of twins believed to be the world’s oldest died aged 102, on 6 March, 2010.Betty lived in Feock, near Truro, Cornwall, the same village her surviving twin Jenny Pelmore.The pair captured the media’s attention when they celebrated their birthdays on New Year’s Day, when Betty told reporters: “Life is much faster now, but the only thing I don’t understand is the computer.”The pair were delivered by a doctor who arrived on horseback. They have lived through two world wars, and seen the introduction of talking motion pictures, frozen food and penicillin.Retired teacher Betty, who was born in Manchester and grew up in Kent, left two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.She lived in Cornwall for more than 50 years, and enjoyed beekeeping.
