Reverend David IslwynDAVIESIslwyn died peacefully at Glyn Nest Baptist Home on Sunday morning 24th May 2020, aged 93. Devoted husband to Beti; Kind father and father-in-law to Hywel and Susan; Iwan and Katherine; Loving tad-cu to Rhys, Aled, Elidir, Osian and hen dad-cu to Ethan and Emilia; Friend and brother to Trefor, Eluned and the late Gwynne. In his time, minister at Rehoboth, Briton Ferry; Caersalem Newydd, Treboeth; Carmel, Pontlliw; Secretary to the Baptist Union of Wales and President of the Union. A private family service will take place at Llanelli Crematorium on Friday 5th of June 2020 at 2pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Carmel Chapel, Pontlliw at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to Glyn Nest c/o Anthony Inkin & Paul Deans, Privately Owned Funeral Directors, Kilby Court, Loughor, Swansea SA4 6RQ (01792 897710). Gwasanaeth preifat i'r teulu yn Amlosgfa Llanelli ar ddydd Gwener 5ed o Fehefin 2020 am 2 o'r gloch. Trefnir Gwasanaeth Coffa yn Eglwys Carmel, Pontlliw yn y dyfodol. Mrs Davies and Iwan, I would like to express my condolences to you, the boys and all of the family on the loss of the Reverend, it is many years since I saw him but he always struck me as a "gentle " man with an indomitable spirit. Bendith
